One of Silga Connect technology’s core values is represented by innovation at all levels, for products, processes and applications, with the aim of answering market requests but also to anticipate them.

As part of the creation of new solutions Silga has been working on the development of Gigaflex made of aluminum and dual access copper connection on multilayer FPCs.

Let’s go into more details:

Gigaflex, Silga’s FPC for the sensorized connection of battery cells to the BMS, with aluminum tracks represents a performing alternative to copper; indeed, aluminum, compared to copper, is lighter, cheaper, easier to be found and last but not least part of a more sustainable recycling process. All these features make it suitable for a multitude of applications, thanks also to the exclusive surface treatment developed by Silga to make aluminum PCBs weldable and easier to be connected.

The other innovation brought by Silga is the realization of dual access copper connection on multilayer FPCs. Today the standard technology is represented by a dual-side FPC, but with this new technology by Silga, we are able to integrate it into an FPC with several tracks. In this way it’s possible to avoid the use of nickel tabs for the welding and get the benefits of a multilayer structure.
